Our story
A tyre shop that grew into the whole job.
Charlton Tyres opened in 1970 at Torrington, on the western edge of Toowoomba where the run out west begins. We have been on the same patch ever since, and every part of the yard got added because a customer asked whether we could.

Tyres, and only tyres
A tyre bay at the gateway to the west, serving the traffic heading out and the farms coming in. Same corner we are on today.

Could you look at the brakes?
Customers kept asking whether we could do the job properly while the car was already up. The answer kept being yes, and a mechanical workshop grew in behind the tyre bay.
Since
Out to the header
Machinery cannot always come to town, and harvest does not wait. A service truck went on the road so the job gets finished where the machine is standing.
Now
One yard, the lot
Tyre bays, an alignment rack, a mechanical workshop, a showroom of wheels and the truck out west. Still owned and run by the people you talk to at the counter.
Still here for one reason
Repeat customers. Families who came in with their first car and now bring the work ute, the van and their kids’ hand me downs.

There is no regional manager to escalate to and no script at the counter. If something needs sorting, the person who can sort it is on site.

If the mid range tyre does the job for your kilometres, that is what we will put in front of you. Talking someone into rubber they do not need is how you lose them for good.
The quote is the price
Fitting, balancing, valves and disposal are in the number before you agree to it. Nothing appears at the counter that was not on the quote.
We chase every rebate going
Brands run cashback and fuel card deals constantly and most shops never mention them. We track what is live and apply it without being asked.
Nothing extra happens without a phone call
If we find something while the car is up, you get a call with the price and the option to say no. Your car, your money, your decision.
